The historic Trail Smoke Eaters, known worldwide, have left a lasting impression on the amateur senior hockey world. As the only team to win two World Championship titles, the “Smokies,” as they are locally known, have greatly contributed to Trail’s reputation as a remarkable sports town.
Formed officially in 1926, the Trail Senior Hockey Club adopted the name “Trail Smoke Eaters” a few years later and established themselves as a power-house team for years to come. The iconic Smoke Eater logo is recognized far and wide among hockey fans.
